Arsenal's Ozil needs to be 'more consistent' to earn start - Emery

Following their Europa League defeat at BATE Borisov, ESPN FC's Paul Mariner takes Arsenal to task for their less-than-impressive showing.
ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop does not hold back in how Mesut Ozil has been performing at Arsenal under Unai Emery.
ESPN FC's Paul Mariner and Shaka Hislop disagree about the amount of pressure Unai Emery may or may not be facing in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said Mesut Ozil needs to be "more consistent" to win his place back in the side.

Ozil has started just once since the Dec. 26 draw at Brighton, and former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently said the ex-Real Madrid man was in his "comfort zone" at the Emirates after signing a long-term contract last year.

"The key is in his hands and he is working very well this week," Emery said in a news conference ahead of Arsenal's Europa League round-of-32...

Mauro Icardi loves Inter Milan and wants to stay - agent

Gab Marcotti explains the latest on Mauro Icardi's strained relationship with Inter, and dives into why some clubs might be hesitant to bring on the 25-year-old striker.

Mauro Icardi does not want to leave Inter Milan, his wife and agent Wanda Nara has said, but added that the decision to strip him of the club captaincy last week had been "like pulling one of his legs off."

On Saturday, Nara appeared on Mediaset television to say she hoped the situation would soon be resolved.

Last Tuesday, Icardi was told he was no longer captain -- a role he has held since 2015 -- and he then withdrew from the squad for the Europa League trip to Rapid Vienna.

Inter's decision...

UEFA open Europa League disciplinary case against Chelsea, Malmo fans

Following their Europa League defeat at BATE Borisov, ESPN FC's Paul Mariner takes Arsenal to task for their less-than-impressive showing.

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea over the conduct of their supporters during Thursday's 2-1 win over Malmo in the Europa League round of 32.

The charges specify the throwing of objects in the stands and a field invasion by several supporters on the final whistle -- one of whom caused security concerns by grabbing winger Eden Hazard and refusing to let go until the Belgian gave him his match shirt.

Malmo have also been charged with the throwing of objects as well as the setting...

Alexandre Lacazette has apologised after being sent off in Arsenal's stunning 1-0 defeat at BATE Borisov in Thursday's Europa League last 32 tie.

The striker was shown a straight red card in the 85th minute for felling Aleksandar Filipovic with an elbow and the Frenchman apologised for his actions after the game.

"Letting the team down like that is the worst feeling," Lacazette wrote on Twitter. "I should have stayed calm but it's not always easy. Sorry.

"There are still 90 minutes to play and I...
