USSF, promoter in court clash over international games

A lawyer for promoter Relevent Sports has asked a judge to order the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) to sanction international league matches in the United States.

The USSF last month denied an application by Relevent Sports, owned by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, to have Ecuador's Barcelona and Guayaquil clubs play at Miami Gardens, Florida, on May 5.

The United States men's national team has announced its training and roster plans ahead of this summer's Gold Cup.

U.S. manager Gregg Berhalter will hold a combined preparation camp in Annapolis, Maryland from May 26 until June 2. The initial contingent of 21 players will be comprised of available senior team performers on the Gold Cup provisional roster, players eligible for the U.S. under-23 team, as well as other select players.

The United States will host Cuba on Oct. 11 and Canada on Nov. 15 in the first CONCACAF Nations League.

CONCACAF said Tuesday that the Americans, seeded in Group A, will play at Canada on Oct. 15 and at Cuba on Nov. 19.

Meanwhile, Mexico will make its Nations League debut on Oct. 11 away against Bermuda, before hosting Panama four days later.

El Tri will then host Panama on Nov. 15 and close out against Bermuda four days later at home.

Houston Dynamo captain and U.S. international DaMarcus Beasley announced on Monday that he is retiring following the 2019 season.
