Tijuana were led out for their Liga MX match against Monterrey by Stormtroopers to promote the upcoming Star Wars film.

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico head coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino has stressed that foreigner rules in Liga MX must be changed in order to clear the path to first team soccer for those coming through El Tri's successful youth team programs.

Mexico finished runner-up in the Under-17 on Sunday, as Brazil stormed to a late 2-1 victory, but with three U-17 World Cup finals in eights years for El Tri, Martino believes that nine non-homegrown players per 18-man match day squad in Liga MX games is too much.

Brazil beat Mexico to claim the Under-17 World Cup title.

A second-half injury time goal from Lazaro gave Brazil a 2-1 comeback victory over Mexico in the Under-17 World Cup final on Sunday in Brasilia.

Alvarez came off the bench in the 73rd minute and curled a free kick over the wall to level the scores in the 79th, just five minutes after Youri Regeer had handed Netherlands the lead.

Regeer saw his penalty -- the Netherlands' sixth -- saved by Mexico keeper Eduardo Garcia, who stopped three penalties...

FC Dallas youngster chooses U.S. over Mexico

Gregg Berhalter speaks highly of new USMNT first team members Sergino Dest and Paxton Pomykal, after naming his 26-player squad for upcoming friendlies.

FC Dallas youth team player Nicolas Carrera has decided to represent the United States over Mexico, having been involved in camps for both in the lead up to the Under-17 World Cup, which starts in October in Brazil.
