Bosnia and Herzegovina hire Robert Prosinecki as new head coach

Robert Prosinecki last worked as the coach of Azerbaijan.

Bosnia and Herzegovina have appointed Robert Prosinecki as their new coach.

The former Croatia midfielder, who played at Real Madrid and Barcelona and also won the European Cup with Red Star Belgrade, replaces Mehmed Bazdarevic, who left his post after failing to lead the team to the 2018 World Cup.

Bosnia and Herzegovina announced the appointment in a statement on their official website, with the organisation's first vice-president Sofrenic Milorad saying he was "the best solution" with a "long-standing...

United States to host Bosnia and Herzegovina in January friendly

Craig Burley uses his own experience to support Christian Pulisic's comments on how to improve American player development.

The retooling United States men's national team will open its 2018 schedule with a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Jan. 28 at StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The match, announced on Monday, will follow the annual January training camp the Americans have held since 2004. The squad figures to be drawn mostly from players in Major League Soccer.

The two nations have only met once before, a 4-3 U.S. win in 2013, when Jozy Altidore scored a hat trick and John Brooks and Bobby Wood made...

Firefighters run on the pitch to take care of flares thrown by Bosnia fans during World Cup qualifier in Estonia

Bosnia and Herzegovina saw their World Cup dream quite literally go up in flames on Tuesday evening when, despite beating Estonia in their final qualifier, results elsewhere eliminated them from the running.

Indeed, Edin Dzeko and Co. needed Greece to succumb to an unlikely defeat against minnows Gibraltar, who themselves had yet to win a single point in Group H.

True to form, Greece cantered to a 4-0 in Piraeus that served to condemn Bosnia to their fate.

In response, their fans used a barrage...

Juventus' Miralem Pjanic set to miss around three weeks

Miralem Pjanic could miss important games for both Juventus and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Miralem Pjanic is expected to miss Juventus' games against Atalanta and Lazio after straining his quadriceps prior to the Bianconeri's 2-0 win over Olympiakos on Wednesday.

Pjanic will miss Bosnia and Herzegovina's decisive World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Estonia after being ruled out for almost three weeks -- an absence that could also see him miss Juve's next Champions League fixture against Sporting Lisbon.

"Miralem Pjanic underwent medical checks this morning that revealed a strain...

Arsene Wenger: 'Determined' Sead Kolasinac will set tone for Arsenal

LONDON -- Arsene Wenger hopes the strength and physicality that new signing Sead Kolasinac brings to the team will set the tone for both his teammates and the Emirates crowd this season.

Kolasinac has made a flying start to life at Arsenal, scoring in the Community Shield and setting up a goal for Danny Welbeck in the opening Premier League win over Leicester. But the bulky defender's biggest impact may be the muscle he brings to a team that's often been accused of being too soft for the Premier...
