Johor Darul Ta'zim leading the way in Malaysia's first foray into the Asian Champions League

On Thursday afternoon in AFC House in southern Kuala Lumpur, a Malaysian dream was realised as the name of a club from the country was pulled out of a ball and entered the group stage of the AFC Champions League. Next February, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) will be one of the continental big boys -- or at least rub shoulders with them.

The only problem was that as the draw was held about three weeks earlier than usual -- because the AFC has the 2019 Asian Cup starting in early January -- the East Asian...

Robert Cornthwaite returns to Malaysia having 'nothing to prove'

ESPN FC's Jason Dasey gives an inside look at the 2015 Malaysia Cup final as Selangor were crowned champions for the 33rd time.

Back for his second stint in Southeast Asia under ex-Melbourne Victory manager Mehmet Durakovic, former Socceroo Robert Cornthwaite will be hoping to taste Malaysia Cup glory once again. But he says his abrupt departure from Western Sydney Wanderers still lingers on his mind.

The ex-club captain admits that his world was turned upside down when manager Tony Popovic quit before the start of the 2017-18 A-League season last October, to be replaced by Josep Gombau.

Within weeks, Cornthwaite found himself...

Former S.League Golden Boot Rafael Ramazotti joins PKNS

Two-time S.League Golden Boot winner Rafael Ramazotti has agreed a deal to join PKNS for the 2018 Malaysia Super League (MSL) season.

Ramazotti moves from Brunei's DPMM, where he was instrumental to the club's 2015 S.League triumph under former Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean.

The Brazilian earned his first Golden Boot that year, when he struck 21 league goals and netted 20 times the following year to retain the award.

PKNS are keen to have a better season under former Malaysia head coach K. Rajagobal...

Perak want to 'do a Leicester' by stunning JDT in 2018 MSL

ESPN FC's Jason Dasey gives an inside look at the 2015 Malaysia Cup final as Selangor were crowned champions for the 33rd time.

Perak have been backed to take inspiration from Leicester City by pulling off a stunning upset to lift the Malaysia Super League (MSL) title in 2018.

Leicester shocked the football world in 2016 as they became Premier League champions, having ended the previous campaign down in 14th spot.

And Perak's First Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir believes the Bos Gaurus can become MSL champions this year, ending Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) four-year reign.

"When Leicester won the English Premier League...

Selangor FA denied return to Shah Alam Stadium for 2018 MSL

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson discuss Pep Guardiola's promise to visit JDT if Manchester City win the Premier League title.
Thai stars Teerasil Dangda, Teerathon Bunmathan and Chanathip Songkrasin out on loan to the J-League for the 2018 season.

Homeless Selangor FA have hit out at the state government after being denied the opportunity to return to Shah Alam Stadium.

The Malaysia Super League (MSL) club's plan to play this year's home games at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil fell through after guarantees could not be provided over availability.

But MSL rivals PKNS and Premier Leage club Felcra will be hosting visitors to the Shah Alam, forcing Selangor to look elsewhere.

Last season, they used Selayang Stadium as their base, but the...
