When is the 2019 Copa America: All you need to know

Who are the Copa America holders?

Chile. La Roja have actually won the last two editions of the tournament, beating Argentina on penalties on home soil in 2015 and repeating the feat a year later against the same opponents in the United States. 

Who is hosting the 2019 Copa America?

Brazil. Having hosted the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, Brazil are the hosts for another major tournament. The country will host 26 games at six venues in five cities, with the final to take place at the famous Maracana in Rio de Janeiro.

Who is participating in the Copa America?

The 10 South American nations qualified automatically while Japan and Qatar are the two invited guests for the 2019 edition.

When does the Copa America start?

The opening match will feature hosts Brazil against Bolivia at the Estadio do Morumbi in Sao Paulo. The game is played on Friday, June 14 with the kickoff at 9.30 p.m. local, 8.30 p.m. ET.

Who qualifies from the group stage?

The top two finishers from each of the three groups, and the top two third-placed sides, advance to the quarterfinals.

When is the Copa America final?

The final will be on July 7 at the Estadio do Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. local, 4 p.m. ET.
