Tottenham need players like Wilfried Zaha next year as they try to contend

Despite being considered one the Prem's best sides, the FC crew debate if they're serial underachievers.

Before Saturday, it had been a while since the strength of Tottenham's bench and a lack of game-changers held them back. Spurs arrived at Wembley with an eight-match winning run and there had certainly been no need for impact substitutes in the devastating 4-0 wins over Watford and Bournemouth. Was leaving Eden Hazard and Diego Costa on the bench for 60 minutes a tactical masterstroke by Antonio Conte? Or maybe just the realization that, while the FA Cup is nice and all, playing it safe and giving yourself the best possible chance to win the Premier League at your first attempt is a whole heck of a lot nicer?

Son struggles, Spurs falter late in FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea

Chelsea overcame Tottenham in a back-and-forth thriller at Wembley to make it to the FA Cup final.
Mauricio Pochettino has no regrets about the way Tottenham played in their FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea.
Dan Kilpatrick and Liam Twomey discuss the surprise lineups that played a role in Chelsea and Spurs' FA Cup semifinal.

With the scores level midway through the second half, Spurs looked the more likely winner. They had controlled much of the game after twice getting themselves back in contention and Chelsea looked short of attacking ideas. Then on came Eden Hazard to finish with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area and Nemanja Matic's late strike sealed a victory that the West London side barely deserved. Spurs, though, will reflect that they only had themselves to blame with Mauricio Pochettino changing...
