Toronto FC, USMNT star Bradley out 4 months after successful surgery

Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley underwent successful surgery on his right ankle Tuesday night, with the 32-year-old midfielder expected to return to full fitness in approximately four months.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Martin O'Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines for up to four months after club GM Ali Curtis said he needs surgery for a "severe and complicated" injury.

Michael Bradley signs new deal to remain with Toronto FC

U.S. international midfielder Michael Bradley has re-signed with Toronto FC, the club announced on Thursday..

Bradley, 32, signed his new contract with the help of Targeted Allocation Money. Bradley's previous deal, a lucrative Designated Player contract that he signed back in 2014, paid him an average of $6.5 million per year, but that deal expired at the end of the 2019 campaign, thus freeing up a DP slot.
