Las Vegas to host Liga MX-MLS Leagues Cup final

The final of the inaugural Leagues Cup that features teams from MLS and Liga MX will be held on Sept. 18 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, the competition announced on Thursday. 

The inaugural cup competition will begin in the United States over July 23 and 24 (watch matches on ESPN and streaming on ESPN+) and see Houston Dynamo face Club America, Real Salt Lake host Tigres, Chicago Fire play Cruz Azul and LA Galaxy take on Club Tijuana. The MLS teams will all play at home.

Revolution sign Tijuana star Bou to DP spot

Houston got on the board first through Darwin Ceren, but Teal Bunbury and New England were not to be denied as they stormed back to win 2-1.

The New England Revolution have signed Tijuana forward Gustavo Bou to a Designated Player spot.

ESPN FC sources reported on July 4 that the two clubs were in discussions about the Argentine striker and the Revs announced on Wednesday that a deal had been finalized.

Tijuana forward Gustavo Bou is in negotiations to join the New England Revolution, sources have told ESPN FC.

Sources close to the situation say the discussed fee for the Argentine striker currently "is roughly half" of the $9 million being reported in Mexico.

The deal first reported by Carlos Cordova, would make Bou a designated player and would include a multiyear contract with an annual salary in the ballpark of $2 million.
