Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah reads out a petition from Newcastle United fans asking the government to act against unsuitable club owners.

Newcastle United signed defender Federico Fernandez from Championship side Swansea City on Thursday, minutes before the transfer window closed in England.

Fernandez is Newcastle's seventh close-season addition and has been given a two-year contract. He joined Swansea in 2014 and made more than 100 Premier League appearances for the Welsh club, who were relegated last season.

"There's no further news on Jordan - he's just not been here," Swansea head coach Potter told BBC Sport Wales.

"That tells you that he's not part of what...

Having been on the field for just a few seconds Yan Dhanda stroked him an 85th-minute winner for Swansea, at Bramall Lane.
Tayo Edun's fortunate injury-time goal gave Ipswich a season-opening draw against Blackburn, at Portman Road.

West Bromwich Albion returned to the Championship in disappointing fashion, but there was better news for another side relegated from last season's Premier League, Swansea.

Meanwhile, preseason promotion favourites Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough both made faltering starts to their campaigns.

West Brom went down 2-1 at home to Bolton Wanderers, for whom Yanic Wildschut scored an 89th-minute winner.

Swansea fell behind at Sheffield United, but second-half goals from Oliver McBurnie...
