Matt Smith inspired QPR to a 4-1 success at struggling Birmingham.

The 6ft 5in striker put Rangers on the road to victory with a first-half goal - his first strike since September.

Smith, who only joined Rangers last month from Fulham, was a persistent threat in a win which was sealed by a 46th-minute goal from Conor Washington and two more by Idrissa Sylla and Yeni Ngbakoto in the last 10 minutes.

Manager Ian Holloway was delighted with a vital morale-boosting win which eases their relegation fears...

Huddersfield boosted their promotion hopes by beating QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road.

The West Yorkshire side took control with first-half goals from Izzy Brown and Nahki Wells.

Substitute Luke Freeman netted on the hour mark with his first Rangers goal, but the visitors held on for a fourth consecutive league win and their first ever at Loftus Road.

On-loan Chelsea youngster Brown, who also scored against QPR while on loan at Rotherham earlier in the season, struck on 26 minutes.

Coaches Ong, Maloney welcomed as QPR's Malaysian bond deepens

Ong Kim Swee and Brad Maloney are heading to England for a month-long training stint with QPR.

It is a groundbreaking arrangement to have two Malaysian coaches working day-to-day at a professional club in London. But it won't be the first taste of English football for Datuk Ong Kim Swee and his assistant Brad Maloney.

The pair, who arrived in the U.K. on Tuesday, are spending the next month as part of the coaching staff of English Championship side Queens Park Rangers. It's a deal arranged by QPR's majority owners, Tune Group, who control the AirAsia budget airline.

Sam Gallagher scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Blackburn defeated QPR 1-0 to boost their survival hopes.

The home fans had endured a frustrating afternoon of few chances and made their feelings about manager Owen Coyle clear, but Gallagher stopped those chants in their tracks in the dying moments with his 11th goal of the season.

QPR will feel aggrieved, though, as Conor Washington's header in the second half looked to have bounced over the line but the officials denied them.
