Melbourne Victory under 'less pressure' than Sydney FC - Terry Antonis

Melbourne Victory have won their elimination final match against Adelaide United in front of an excited home crowd.
Two goals in the second half proved invaluable as Melbourne City progressed to week two of the finals to face the Newcastle Jets.

Terry Antonis knows a fair bit about Sydney FC and the big A-League stage.

He played for the Sky Blues for five seasons. His last game came under Graham Arnold in 2015's Grand Final, lost 3-0 to new home Melbourne Victory.

In between his stints for Sydney and Victory, Antonis sandwiched half a season for Western Sydney.

There, he was part of the Wanderers side that denied Sydney an unbeaten A-League season with an epic derby win.

Another major clash looms on Saturday when he wears Victory's navy...

Sydney FC 'up for the taking' in A-League semifinal - Rhys Williams

Melbourne Victory have won their elimination final match against Adelaide United in front of an excited home crowd.
Two goals in the second half proved invaluable as Melbourne City progressed to week two of the finals to face the Newcastle Jets.

Fresh from their defeat of Adelaide United to reach the penultimate weekend of the A-League season, Rhys Williams is confident of snapping the Victory's two-year losing run to the Sky Blues.

"Every time we play them, it's not like they've thumped us," he said. "They haven't played us off the park.

"It's just been about them...

Sydney FC 'physically superior' to Melbourne Victory - Michael Zullo

Melbourne Victory have won their elimination final match against Adelaide United in front of an excited home crowd.
Two goals in the second half proved invaluable as Melbourne City progressed to week two of the finals to face the Newcastle Jets.

If Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque re-lit the Big Blue touchpaper, teammate Michael Zullo is keeping it burning ahead of Saturday's A-League semifinal.

A day after Brosque declared Melbourne Victory were at a psychological disadvantage leading into the do-or-die Allianz Stadium showdown, Zullo issued a bold statement about what he calls the Sky Blues' physical superiority.

The fixture is famous for its spite and niggle, especially on the finals stage.
