Ex-Ajax and Feyenoord goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer joins LAFC

Carlos Vela addresses Zlatan's departure from MLS and Chicharito's pending arrival at LA Galaxy.

LAFC has signed Dutch veteran goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer, the MLS club announced on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Vermeer has spent his entire club career with in the Dutch Eredivisie, aside from a short loan in 2018 to Belgian side Club Brugge.

The former Netherlands international had been at Feyenoord from 2014, having previously played at Ajax for nine seasons.

Vermeer has won numerous accolades, including five Dutch league titles and the Belgian championship while at Brugge.

Ale Moreno says Javier Hernandez would have a bigger impact on MLS than Carlos Vela if he joined Galaxy.

LAFC star forward Carlos Vela would welcome Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to Los Angeles with open arms, even if the 31-year-old would be playing for archrival LA Galaxy.

Sevilla striker Hernandez is in talks with the Galaxy and a source with knowledge of the talks said a deal was "close" but "not done yet."

Vela said he has already spoken to his former El Tri teammate about the possibility of a move in which he believes everyone would win.

Central Coast's Sam Silvera on trial with MLS side LAFC

Sunday's dramatic win over Melbourne Victory could be Sam Silvera's last A-League appearance for Central Coast with the youngster trialling at MLS club LAFC.

The 19-year-old Silvera came off the bench late in the Mariners' action-packed 3-2 win over Victory at Central Coast Stadium.

A day later LAFC listed Silvera among three trialists on their pre-season roster for a camp that started at the club's performance centre in California.
