Diego Forlan: Kitchee must battle after Asian Champions League thrashings

Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has told ESPN FC that his Kitchee teammates must change their mentality in the Asian Champions League.

Forlan was signed on a four-month contract for the group stages of the ACL, but was frustrated as two-time champions Jeonbuk Motors thrashed Kitchee 6-0 on Tuesday.

That result came a week after an opening day 3-0 defeat to China's Tianjin Quanjian.

Hong Kong Premier League side Kitchee have announced the signing of former Manchester United and Uruguay striker Diego Forlan.

Forlan, who won the Golden Ball Award for the best player at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, arrives as Kitchee prepare for the group phase of the AFC Champions League next month.

Kitchee revealed his signing on their Facebook page on Thursday. He is due to arrive in Hong Kong on Jan. 10 and will be unveiled at a news conference the following day.
