A dramatic stoppage-time header from defender Timm Klose earned Norwich City a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought East Anglian derby against Ipswich Town at Carrow Road.

The visitors had looked set to claim their first win against their local rivals in nine years when skipper Luke Chambers headed home from a corner with just two minutes of normal time left.

But Norwich refused to be beaten and deep into five minutes of time added on, Klose headed home a Grant Hanley cross to ensure a share of the spoils.

Ipswich missed the chance to catch up with the chasing pack in the Sky Bet Championship with a dismal 0-0 draw against bottom club Burton.

Former Tractor Boys striker Darren Bent had the best chance of the game for the visitors in front of the lowest attendance of the season at Portman Road - 13,815.

The Brewers had a penalty appeal waved away by referee David Webb when the ball struck Jonas Knudsen following a shot by Bent.

In the 12th minute a smart shot from just outside the penalty area by Burton...

Ipswich kept alive their faint hopes of securing a Sky Bet Championship play-off place as they piled further misery on relegation-threatened Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Joe Garner's first-half strike preceded an own goal from Adam Matthews on the stroke of half-time, with Ipswich's 2-0 win ensuring Mick McCarthy made an enjoyable return to Wearside.

However, for Sunderland boss Chris Coleman, there was yet more disappointment as his side remained rooted in the Championship's bottom three, just...

Sky Bet Championship leaders Wolves moved 12 points clear at the top of the table after Matt Doherty's goal was enough to secure victory at Ipswich.

Doherty's 15th-minute header was enough to clinch the points for the high-flying visitors in a high-energy encounter at Portman Road.

Wolves created several chances in the second half but were denied by some excellent goalkeeping by Ipswich's Bart Bialkowski.

Ipswich remained 12th following the defeat ahead of next week's trip to Sunderland.

Colorado Rapids sign defender Tommy Smith from Ipswich Town

Tommy Smith is moving to MLS with the Colorado Rapids.

The Colorado Rapids completed the signing of defender Tommy Smith from Ipswich Town on Monday.

Smith, 27, has spent his entire career with Ipswich outside of a few loans, appearing in 267 games in all competitions, but has now signed a two-year deal with a club option for a third at the MLS club.

The English Championship club said the Rapids would pay an undisclosed transfer fee.

"Bringing in someone of Tommy's caliber along the back line was a top priority for us this offseason," said Rapids general...
