Clint Hill's header proved enough for Carlisle to pick up a 1-0 win at Grimsby.

The former QPR defender struck midway through the second half to give Keith Curle's side all three points at Blundell Park.

Grimsby should have been ahead early on as Scott Vernon forced a good save from Jack Bonham, before Diallang Jaiyesimi somehow managed to hit the crossbar from just a couple of yards away.

Bonham was called into action again just before half-time as he produced a magnificent save to keep out Danny Collins'...

Exeter made light work of Grimsby as they cruised to a 2-0 win at St James Park.

The opening quarter saw nothing in the way of chances as both sides struggled to adapt to the rain and swirling wind.

However, the deadlock was broken after 28 minutes when Lee Holmes curled in a cross from the left wing and Jayden Stockley arrived at the back post to guide the ball home from close range.

Exeter went close again when Pierce Sweeney benefited from a fortunate ricochet, but his 25-yard shot fizzed narrowly...

Plymouth are through to the FA Cup second round following a 1-0 win over Grimsby at Home Park thanks to Graham Carey's fourth goal of the season.

Playmaker Carey got League One basement side Argyle off to another ideal start, curling the ball into the top corner with an exquisite left-foot curling strike after nine minutes.

After that he was instrumental in all that was good about the Greens in the first half.

Grimsby goalkeeper James McKeown flapped over a goalbound Carey 20th-minute free-kick that...

Grimsby played out their third goalless draw in a row at home as they were held once again by Cambridge.

Sam Jones went closest to breaking the deadlock early on after he nicked the ball off defender Leon Legge but the former Gateshead man's curling effort came back off the post with David Forde beaten.

Luke Summerfield's corner almost crept straight in moments later, before Scott Vernon had a header superbly saved by Forde.

Uche Ikpeazu then squandered a golden opportunity to give Cambridge the lead...

Stevenage avoid action over claims female fans were asked to show bras

Stevenage ran out 3-1 winners against Grimsby.

The EFL has confirmed "no specific action" will be taken following complaints stewards at Stevenage behaved inappropriately by asking some female Grimsby fans to show their bras as a security measure.

Following the game at the Lamex Stadium in August, the Mariners Trust wrote to both clubs, the Football Association and a number of police forces in wake of the allegations.

According to the Trust, several female supporters were asked to lift their tops up to show their bras to female stewards. A further...
