Dortmund came back to beat Cologne on Friday.

Borussia Dortmund fought back to beat Cologne 3-1 away with late goals from substitute Achraf Hakimi and Paco Alcacer on Friday to make it two wins out of two in the Bundesliga this season.

The visitors were a shadow of the team that put five goals past Augsburg in the season opener last week and only came to life midway into the second half, scoring three times in the last 20 minutes.

Cologne's Dominick Drexler opened the scoring by nodding home at the far post just before the half-hour with the...

Cologne, who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season, bounced back at the first attempt as they guaranteed promotion on Monday with a 4-0 win at Greuther Fuerth thanks to a Jhon Cordoba hat trick.

Needing a draw to ensure their return to the top flight, the Billy Goats raced to a 3-0 half-time lead as they wrapped up the title with two matches to spare.

Cordoba took advantage of slack marking to give Cologne an eighth-minute lead before Daniel Steininger headed into his own net from a corner...

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich bounced back from their Champions League disappointment with a 3-1 win at relegated Cologne.

Having missed out on a place in the Champions League final after drawing 2-2 with Real Madrid in midweek, Bayern looked like suffering further disappointment when Niklas Sule put through his own net after 36 minutes to give the hosts a surprise half-time lead.

However, the visitors fought back at the RheinEnergieStadion with two goals in as many minutes in the second half...

Despite Bayern Munich links, Cologne's Jonas Hector signs new two-year deal

Jonas Hector was part of the Germany squad that reached the Euro 2016 semifinals.

Germany defender Jonas Hector has ended speculation about his future by signing a two-year contract extension with relegation-threatened Cologne.

Hector, 27, was reported to be interesting clubs, including Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and Serie A leaders Juventus, but is now committed to the club until 2023.

Cologne, bottom of the Bundesliga and eight points from safety with three games remaining, will almost certainly be playing in Germany's second tier next season.

Marcel Risse's late free-kick earned bottom club Cologne a point from a 2-2 home draw against high-flying Schalke to keep slim survival hopes alive.

Midfielder Risse struck in the closing stages to complete an impressive fightback for Cologne, who went 2-0 down in the first half.

Goals from Breel Embolo and Yevhen Konoplyanka put Schalke in early control before Cologne hit back through Leonardo Bittencourt soon after.

Victory would have edged second-placed Schalke even closer to a Champions League place,...
