With reports that Luciano Spalletti is planning to depart Roma, Gab Marcotti gives his take on how the club should proceed.

On Sunday evening, 65,000 Roma fans will wave goodbye to Francesco Totti after a 25th Serie A campaign that has been more bitter than sweet. One of Europe's finest ever players will close a lifetime as the Eternal City's hero having started just one league game in his last season -- so far he has played a total of 328 minutes, the majority of which were spread across largely irrelevant substitute appearances similar to the one reserved for him against Genoa at the weekend.

Francesco Totti's awkward Roma farewell as legend says ciao to Serie A

Alejandro Moreno says Roma legend Francesco Totti is the last of his type in football.

As Francesco Totti prepared to come on in Verona last Saturday, a kid arose from the bench opposite and readied himself to do the same.

"Who are you?" the Roma captain asked a bashful Emanuel Vignato, who became the latest millennial to make his debut in Serie A.

There was a "Shouldn't you be in school?" feel to Totti's question. "He looks like he's 12," Totti shouted to Radja Nainggolan.

Vignato is actually 16. He's a winger and it's as yet unclear whether or not he'll fulfil his potential...
