Playmakers David Silva and Mesut Ozil separated by perception

Shaka Hislop tells us if the mishandling of Mesut Ozil will be Arsene Wenger's final failure as Arsenal manager.
The FC crew lambaste Mesut Ozil for his performances at Arsenal after his agent called him the club's scapegoat.

They are stylistically similar, defiantly un-English players, unsuited to the straitjacket of 4-4-2. They are twin World Cup winners, slight figures imported from Spain to add class and creativity, but who are more prolific for their countries than their clubs. And yet if Mesut Ozil and David Silva seem kindred spirits, they are separated in perception.

They meet on Sunday with an acute focus on the Arsenal playmaker, but rather less on the Manchester City midfielder. The German is castigated,...

March in review: Chelsea edge closer to a domestic double, Arsenal capitulate

Relive our top five Premier League goals throughout March, but what's your No.1?
Paul Mariner feels his former club Arsenal should take some risks, including possibly parting ways with Arsene Wenger.
Jermain Defoe hopes he can force his way into England's World Cup squad after earning his first call-up since 2013.

It was another wildly entertaining month, full of drama and excitement; Adam Hurrey looks back at March.

Who won the month? Chelsea's champions elect

March is traditionally the time of year when the picture at the top and bottom of the league starts to become clearer, while the cup competitions find themselves boiled down to their main protagonists. In both domestic cases, Chelsea are firmly in the driving seat.

Antonio Conte's six Premier League points in March will have left Tottenham -- the only...

Thierry Henry not the right man to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal

Craig Burley and Mark Donaldson discuss whether Thierry Henry could succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
The FC panel yet again debate Arsene Wenger's impact at Arsenal, and if his vision should still be trusted at the club.

They call it silly season. Those summer months where Parliament is in recess and the newspapers look for something, anything, to fill the news void. Deprived of the usual news cycle and its structured twists and reliable turns, anything goes. Football, though, has four such silly seasons. They are called international breaks, when clubs across the land go dark, managers go into hiding and the news machine feeds off scraps. This week's, was responsible for one of the silliest stories of all.

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal missing out on latest generation of French stars

Craig Burley and Mark Donaldson discuss whether Thierry Henry could succeed Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger gushed romantically about France's latest generation of star players recently, saying Didier Deschamps' national team is ready to dominate world football in coming years.

"I'm convinced, maybe because I'm French, but at the moment the best players in the world are in France," Wenger said during the international break.

Which raises the question: Why aren't those players at Arsenal?

Wenger's ability to snap up the brightest talents his native country was producing was the key...

Pivotal Player: Laurent Koscielny's impact at Arsenal already clear

Laurent Koscielny's value to Arsenal was proven in the Champions League.

Each of the Premier League's 20 clubs have someone they probably cannot do without if objectives for the season are to be met.

For Arsenal, that's Laurent Koscielny. The statistics of Koscielny's contribution to that 10-2 aggregate Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich are that his team were winning 2-1 on aggregate while he was on the field. Shame about the rest of the tie. And the season.

Premier League Key Questions: When will Arsene Wenger reveal decision?

Arsene Wenger says he has reached a decision on a return but he hasn't yet shared it.

There's no more international breaks between now and the end of the season, with the Premier League hotting up at both ends of the table.

Each club in the top flight has a key issue to resolve between now and the end of the campaign -- from those fighting for a Champions League place to those battling to survive, everything will be resolved in the next few months.

ESPN FC Arsenal blogger James McNicholas tackles the crucial question: When will Arsene Wenger reveal his decision on the future?
