Bournemouth wrestling Jack Wilshere dilemma with eye on 2017-18

After a poor run of form several weeks ago, Eddie Howe discusses how Bournemouth's recent run has restored team morale.

The international break has been a welcome period of calm at the Vitality Stadium and with no new injure scares, Bournemouth are in a good place. The rest for the vast majority of the team over the past week can only bode well for the remainder of the season as well.

A short trip east to take on Southampton on April 1 will definitely be a tricky test in advance of the final stage of the season, but it's one the Cherries should be confident of overcoming. Claude Puel's side have taken just 18...

Socceroo Brad Smith eyes Bournemouth exit for more game time

Brad Smith
Socceroo Brad Smith is ready to go out on loan from Bournemouth to get more game time next season.

Socceroos' Brad Smith doesn't want to leave English Premier League home Bournemouth but is ready to drop down a division for crucial game time.

The 22-year-old left back turned heads when he moved from giants Liverpool to the up-and-coming Premier League club for $10 million in the offseason.

The fee was a surprising one from a club of Bournemouth's relative stature for an unproven, albeit impressively talented defender.

The south coast club are yet to see a return on their investment given Smith...

Jack Wilshere's once promising career remains in limbo after England snub

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop has his say on Jack Wilshere and links with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

Eddie Howe seemed baffled. When he was asked about Jack Wilshere's omission from the England squad to face Germany and Lithuania, the Bournemouth manager said: "Am I surprised? Yes because of the quality of the player Jack is."

Howe's confusion would be a little easier to take at face value if Wilshere had been in the Bournemouth team recently. Instead, the Arsenal loanee was on the bench for their trip to Old Trafford at the start of March and after that creditable 1-1 draw, that was where...

Afobe, King's brilliant attacking play sparks Bournemouth to Swansea win

Bournemouth's 2-0 home win keeps Swansea City grounded close to the drop zone.
After a poor run of form several weeks ago, Eddie Howe discusses how Bournemouth's recent run has restored team morale.
Benik Afobe and Simon Francis were thrilled to contribute to Bournemouth's home victory over Swansea.

Bournemouth earned a well-deserved three points in their 2-0 victory over Swansea on Saturday and have really turned a corner since their dismal run of poor form at the turn of the year. Eddie Howe's side are a match for any team if they perform like this, but it's just a matter of finding that consistency, which is something they struggle with.

There's still work to do in avoiding relegation, but Bournemouth can breathe a huge sigh of relief, having stretched the gap to the drop zone even further.
