Shanghai Shenhua-Shandong Luneng postponed after Hongkou Stadium fire

Hongkou Stadium was damaged by a fire last month.

Shanghai Shenhua's Chinese Super League clash with Shandong Luneng, which was scheduled to be played this weekend, has been postponed due to ongoing repair work at Hongkou Stadium.

The venue was damaged in a fire in late March and the CSL has delayed the meeting between the two teams until Sept. 19 to allow repairs to be carried out on the stadium's electrical circuits.

Gus Poyet: John Terry move to CSL club is 'a great possibility'

Craig Burley and Mark Donaldson react to John Terry's decision to leave Chelsea, and what lies ahead for him.

John Terry could move to China, his former Chelsea teammate Gus Poyet, now the manager of Shanghai Shenhua, has told talkSPORT.

Terry will leave Chelsea in the summer after 22 years at Stamford Bridge and is available on a free transfer.

The 36-year-old defender came off the bench to make his 714th appearance, and first in the Premier League since November, in the 4-2 win over Southampton on Tuesday.

Terry, who has won 14 major trophies at Chelsea, could finish the season lifting more silverware,...

Carlos Tevez says he is struggling to adapt to Shanghai life even though he gets on well with his Shenhua teammates.

The issues began before he had even arrived in China. Confusion over the date Carlos Tevez was supposed to begin his Shanghai Shenhua career saw the Argentine head on holiday with his family while future teammates prepared for their fateful AFC Champions League playoff with Brisbane Roar. It was an ominous start to life in Asia.

Yet, having failed to perform in that tie after just two weeks with his new side, the start of the Chinese Super League season brought great hope as a Tevez-inspired Shenhua...

Shandong Luneng frustrated despite Pelle strike; Changchun Yatai grab win

Graziano Pelle opened the scoring for Italy on Monday.
Italy striker Graziano Pelle scored his first of the season for Shandong.

Graziano Pelle scored his first goal of the season as Shandong Luneng missed the chance to move back into second place in the Chinese Super League, being held to a 1-1 draw by Chongqing Lifan on Sunday.

Italy international Pelle, without a goal in five previous appearances, struck in the 82nd minute to cancel out Fernandinho's 28th-minute opener as Shandong moved to within three points of leaders Guangzhou R&F.

"The only beautiful thing about this match was that Pelle finally scored," coach Felix...
