It wasn't Saturday's game that condemned Chivas, however. The absentees for preseason,...

Streaking Leon vs. Tigres, Clasico Joven headline Week 13 in Liga MX

Despite sitting in 12th position, Pachuca still have time to fulfill preseason expectations and qualify for the Liguilla.

Ahead of this weekend's action, ESPN FC's Liga MX writers Tom Marshall, Nayib Moran and Eric Gomez look ahead to some of the league's biggest matchups and storylines.

Monterrey vs. Pachuca

Amid the fallout of the U.S. failing to qualify for the World Cup on Tuesday, an emotional Omar Gonzalez describing his own goal as "one that will haunt me forever" and then apologizing to fans was one of the most raw and honest moments.

But Gonzalez has very little time to now process what has happened. The...

Talking Points: When the dust settles which eight teams will qualify for the Liguilla?

Time is running out for defending champions Chivas to get their act together and qualify for the playoffs.

Liga MX's 2017 Apertura is now firmly in the home stretch, with each club having between five and seven games remaining before the Liguilla tournament.

With eight playoff positions up for grabs and a logjam of clubs in close competition, the final few spots figure to come down to the final day of the season. Liga MX is annually one of the closely contested leagues in the world and with just a few weeks to go a lot can still happen.

With that being said, for this week's talking point we asked...

Mexican club Pachuca could enter partnership with Paris Saint-Germain

Craig Burley and Alexis Nunes run through this week's player power rankings, which see Neymar and Leo Messi top the list.
Mark Donaldson and Shaka Hislop delve into Adrian Rabiot's interest in playing in the Premier League and where he may fit.

The president of Mexican side Pachuca has met Paris Saint-Germain officials during his tour of Europe to discuss "a mutually beneficial sporting partnership."

PSG have been reported to be considering moving into the Mexican market in recent years, with a summer friendly against Club America at the Estadio Azteca having been mooted at one point.

"As part of his European tour, our president, Jesus Martinez, and our sporting director, Marco Garces, visited PSG's facilities," a Pachuca statement on...
