Liverpool to beat Wolves? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score for Arsenal?

With the Premier League nearly at its halfway point, ESPN FC's Craig Burley picks his top player among some of the standouts so far this campaign.

Our banker bet from the north London derby landed in midweek and attention now shifts back to the Premier League this weekend, with Wolves and Liverpool kicking things off on Friday night.

Running total: +£5.89

The Banker

Wolves have won their last three, but would anyone seriously back them against Liverpool on current form? Top of the table and buzzing after claiming a first league victory at Anfield for five years over bitter rivals Manchester United the last time out, they look the pick to claim another three points when they head to Molineux. Nuno Espirito Santo's men won't sit back and hope they can nick a 0-0, so the game should be easy on the eye, but Liverpool's majestic forward line looks unstoppable at present. The pick here is for Klopp's men to win and both teams to find the net.

Selection: £5 on Liverpool to win and both teams to score at 12/5 with bet365

The First Goal Flutter

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has shone for the Gunners since his £60 million move from the Bundesliga in January, and he has scored 10 goals in 17 matches this season. Burnley's defence could struggle with his pace and guile, and he gets our vote at 2/1 to score first against the Clarets.

Selection: £3 on Aubameyang to score first at 2/1 with bet365

The Tasty Treble

Spurs will be looking to nail down a fourth straight Premier League win when they visit Everton on Sunday. Mauricio Pochettino's men are not getting the plaudits they perhaps deserve, and at 23/20 they look a bet to win on Merseyside. Elsewhere Chelsea (1/3) can be trusted to beat Leicester City but it's clear that the Blues need a legitimate 20-goals-a-season striker if they are to challenge for titles any time soon. Finally, Newcastle against Fulham could be tight, with a draw not the worst result for either side. The Cottagers have won just one of their five games since Claudio Ranieri took charge and with so much riding on these relegation six-pointers backing "under 2.5 goals" at 10/11 looks the sensible shout. The threefold comes in at just under 9/2 and has every chance.

Selection: £3 on the treble at 4.47/1 with bet365

The Euro Wager

Juventus face Roma this weekend and after 16 games the Bianconeri are an eye-watering 22 points ahead of their Serie A rivals. Roma under Eusebio Di Francesco have been hugely erratic all season, and a win for the Italian champions without conceding looks the most likely outcome in Turin.

Selection: £5 on Juventus to win to nil at 6/5 with bet365

The Wildcard Tip

A terrible few days for Manchester United began with Marouane Fellaini taking pot-shots at the Anfield corner flag and ended with Jose Mourinho finally checking out of Old Trafford after settling a rumoured £500K-plus hotel bill. However, hope springs eternal and fate decrees, naturally, that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first game as United boss is against the last team to sack him. With Mourinho now gone the shackles should come off against Cardiff, who have shipped six goals in their last three Premier League games. A 2-1 victory for United can be backed at 8/1 with bet365 and may go close if Solskjaer can get an immediate tune out of this temperamental but talented bunch of players.

Selection: £2 on Manchester United to win 2-1 at 8/1 with bet365
